Word Practitioner

Word Practitioner

Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, let our hearts be captured in one Spirit as we feast on your Word and are transformed from glory to glory by your Spirit in Jesus name, Amen.

We’ll admit as Christian’s that, life in general initially is a spiritual profession but often wonder how it relates to and impacts our individual worlds either for good or evil. We have often asked ourselves, how can a young person be gainfully engaged in this life and yet cleanse his ways in this crooked and perverse generation, having escaped the corruption and decay that is in this worldly system? Is there hope and remedy for the down trodden, cast down and defeated in the affairs of this life on earth? Yes, there is! David said “the Word of God is a lamp to my feet and a light unto my path”.

A diligent search through the holy scriptures reveal time without number, how men and women of faith, in spite of their earthly limitation or challenges subdued kingdoms, cities, nations, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, were made rich and wealthy in silver and in gold, became architects of God’s plans, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of swords, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of aliens, received their dead raised to life again. But how did they achieve this impeccable results? They were essentially “Word Practitioners”. As a people called by God, His Words to them (both spoken and written) was first and foremost their daily profession or occupation.

We have often wondered, what is the business or profession of God?

It’s so amazing but we may not have noticed that, the different compilation of scriptures point to God’s number one profession or occupation as His Word. From Genesis to Revelation, He has been in the business of building and crafting His Word in Heaven and in the lives of men and women here on Earth. God is in the business of His word. Ironically, that is in summary the only profession He gave to all of mankind to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth. This is because, words are the only basic units (fabric and foundation) of life. They are the only route, bridge (conveyer belt) between the spiritual and the physical or material world. I dare say that God will do nothing without His Word. It is impossible to separate God from His word. Psa 107:19 They cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. God’s only means of deliverance is through His Word because that is His primary profession or occupation. All the fierce battles fought in the bible which involved God was won or lost based on the word of God or the lack of it. They were not won predominantly by strategies nor superior weapons nor the size of their armies. God’s word gave them mastery and victory in battles.

John been filled and inspired by the Spirit comes as the closest to describing this truth by writing in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word of God became flesh, dwelt and worked among us and through Him salvation was delivered. As it relates to God and His profession so does it apply to us in this life. In Proverbs 18:20-21 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.  Life and death are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof, but I really love the way the message translation puts it. Words satisfy the mind as much as fruit does the stomach; good talk is as gratifying as a good harvest. Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit, you choose. God deliberately and purposefully gave us His word to dominate, subdue and replenish the earth because without the word of God was not anything made that was made.

We often get it twisted when we talk about spirits but Jesus defined it simply and explicitly, in John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing the words that I speak unto you, are spirit, and are life. An insight into this revelation opens up a lot of cumber worms in simplifying the complex. As becoming Word Practitioners, we need to know that, words are spirits and therefore spirts are made of words, which is why you must take heed what words we hear and meditate on. Also the choice of words we say with our mouths as confessions and the kind of words we watch with our eyes forming our thoughts and imaginative minds. All men with the exception of none, even in their pursuit of life goals rise or fall on this without a shadow of doubt. In case you have any doubts check James 3:2 in many things we all offend (sin) but if a man offends not in words, the same is a perfect (complete, successful, prosperous) man able to control and direct his entire life. So you will see clearly we are collectively and individually a make-up of words. By your words, you shall be justified and by your words you shall be condemned. Your life will navigate towards where your mouth goes.

Let’s get more practical here, the books you have been reading, the kind of music you have been listening to, the movies you watch, the kind of news you listen to and the overall conversations, you have been participating are not merely physical activities but very spiritual. Brothers and sisters that is where the real spiritual attacks and bewitchments take place and is by far more dangerous than the use of shrines. This is what affects even the dreams we have at bedtime. That is the determining factor why our lives are the way they are. Whether we find ourselves in lack or abundance, whether we find ourselves in poverty or prosperity, whether we find ourselves in sickness or health, whether we find ourselves in fear or love, whether we find ourselves in despair or in hope are all the result of the kind and quality of words (spirits) we have been fellowshipping with. This is a good place to ask yourself, what kind of spirits (words) have I been fellowshipping with? Jeremiah had said something striking in Jer 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart. It’s time to stop starving yourself of God’s delicious food and start feasting on His word. Do you realize that is what we do speaking to ourselves in psalm, hymns and spiritual songs? You can call it prayer or worship but essentially we are having a spiritual fellowship with God through words.

Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him (the Word) with whom we have to DO. I hope you saw that “with whom we have to do”. All our walk with God by faith and by the spirit is summed up through the Word of God as practitioners. This is what made Abraham the father of many nations, this is what made Moses a deliverer of Israel, this what took Joseph from prison to become the Prime Minister of Egypt, this is what made David king from being a shepherd boy in the wilderness. The only way to know God’s love and grace is through His Word.

The good news is when we give ourselves completely to the Word of God, we can easily change any situation we don’t want and recreate our own world of success and prosperity. It’s never late with God to cause any change using His Word. I charge you therefore as poets of God by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, to commend yourselves especially to the Word of His Grace (thus the Profession of God) which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance.

  1. Great Apostolic insight. Thank you man of God.

We are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ. To be a disciple of Jesus is to be like him. Who’s Jesus Christ? He is God. Who is God? he is spirit? How can we access Him, who is spirit? By the word. John 1:1-3.

We were creates in the image of God. So if God is spirit and God is the word, then to be like Him, we must be like the word.

Both heaven and earth were created by the word (God) and is held or sustained by same ( the word). To practice the word means practicing God.

Thus Christianity is all about practicing the word.

  2. Glorious revelation!

“The good news is when we give ourselves completely to the Word of God, we can easily change any situation we don’t want and recreate our own world of success and prosperity.”

This makes sense…in the beginning was the word. This means, the word is the oldest tool/person that we have… full of experience.
Therefore living our lives based on the word (practising the word), is living based on the oldest and finest experience… with this we are assured success.

Thank you so much Minister. You’re a blessing

  5. Wow… That’s powerful.
That’s why Jesus answered the devil in John 4:4 ; man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
We live not by the food we eat but by the word of God.

  11. Being a word practitioner is what has kept me alive today.

After leading my colleagues in prayer and declaration after our last paper in level 400 and all is said and done; we departed to our various homes and hostels. All of a sudden I begun to feel dizzy seriously. How I got to my apartment I had no idea. I was sweating profusely, my breath was ceasing, my head was aching as if my head is beaten with a stick, and I was feeling chills all over my body.

All I could hear is you will die and all you have tried to achieve will be nothing. You will die, Jonathan you will surely die. The voice was loud, intimidating and oppressive. But all my Spirit was also professing was, you will live. I begun to confess this word in whispers. The more I profess the worse I become. I declared in prayer with my shaking lips. I prayed. And held my faith strong all though I was fading out. A warm air blew across my body and fell asleep. I woke up later feeling revived and strong. And to the glory of God I was saved.!!

Indeed we are where we and what we are because of what we profess and live by.. God doesn’t waste his voice on the unnecessary because each word He utter, something happens. As He speaks, mighty things happen. So provoke God through a faith-ful prayer to speak concerning your issue.

A child of God is revealed and defined by the word he utter and the principles he/she live by.

    God bless you Minister Nyavor

  13. Great insight into the word of God… I can only remember Jesus and Peter on two occasions… One was at the beginning of Jesus ministry when Jesus said to cast thy Nets(spoken word) and the word Create or manufacture fishes into the sea where there was NO fish at all…. The word creates

The last end of Jesus ministry with Peter was same thing .Jesus spoke the word and where there was no fishes fishes appeared…indeed the Word is God…

But I have a simple question..
What’s clear way(s) can one become a successful word practitioner…
